Unlimitas has been accepted as an early test user for Microsoft's new cloud computing platform, Azure.

The majority of the web applications produced by Unlimitas need to be hosted, with the related hardware and licencing costs. Although Unlimitas can offer leasing options for such expenditure, it's likely that in the future costs could be minimal by making best use of .Net Services and SQL Data Services as opposed to the .Net Framework and SQL Server.

The team plans to develop a new software-as-a-service (SaaS) application using the new platform during 2009.
